The Yawn – Original Work by Sébastien Joly

A unique painting that captures the suspended moment of a yawn, blending relaxation, tenderness, and poetry.

Inspired by The Scream by Edvard Munch — a work that has always fascinated me — this piece offers a more peaceful interpretation.
Where Munch painted the scream of the world, Mana responds with a breath of peace: a passage from anguish to surrender.

Hand-painted in oil on canvas, this work unfolds through a free and instinctive pictorial gesture.
The material itself tells a story: some pigments were mixed with Tuscan earth collected on site, physically anchoring the piece in its environment.
The silhouette of the cypress tree completes the composition, a silent signature of the Tuscan atmosphere.

The artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, as well as a letter written with a dip pen, sealed with wax using my personal seal and adorned with a cypress branch.
